I have a full shelf at this point that’s brimming, end to end, with books by ex- and current officials calling trump an actual fascist who is a danger to the country – The Divider, Why We Did It, Unthinkable, Betrayal, I Alone Can Fix It, Frankly We Did Win This Election, etc.

    Proof:

None of the millions of words in those books have moved the needle much. This is good to hear, but nothing other than voter turnout will help.

VOTE, and bring friends. Do it now, if you can.

That he published after he was no longer serving as the Chairman of the Joint Chief’s of Staff. The US military is known for being apolitical. This is him speaking out as former CJCS Mark Milley, and not CJCS GEN Milley.

That he published after he was no longer serving as the Chairman of the Joint Chief’s of Staff. The US military is known for being apolitical. This is him selling a book as former CJCS Mark Milley, and not CJCS GEN Milley.

Hard to paint his actions as morally good when he’s doing it to make a profit. Alex Vindman, for example, opposed Trump despite the personal cost for him. Miley doesn’t get points for that.

        Edit: It’s Bob Woodward’s book, not Milley’s.

Also when a former-President and possible-future-President is an outright fascist, “being apolitical” is a great way to defend marching citizens to camps. After all, opposing a direct order from the President might be seen as “political.”

The retired general who said this isn’t making a profit; Bob Woodward, the journalist, is the one selling the book, not the general.

The US military is known for being apolitical.

The US military is known as being rife with ultra-nationalists and fully in bed with the MIC. Past that, I wouldn’t even call it non-partisan. Each branch has its own partisan tilt - Air Force / Marines favoring the GOP, Army / Navy trending Dem - with career brass tending to play coy on their politics so they can survive Senate confirmation to those top ranks.

But you’re fucking crazy if you think the organization that churns out the most politicians per-capita isn’t political. Holding a military rank continues to be a popular launchpad into an electoral career.

The military doesn’t have the same latitude to criticize the President like this that the rest of us do. He can’t legally say stuff like this until after retirement

Hiding behind the law to escape doing what’s morally right is awfully convenient. Especially since he’s not saying this for free, he’s selling a book.

Edit: Bob Woodward is selling the book, not Milley. But I stand behind the rest of what I said.

The retired general isn’t selling a book; Bob Woodward, the journalist who helped expose Watergate decades ago, interviewed him and is selling a book.

It’s always to sell a book, never when it could actually matter in real time.

OH DANG DUDE, IF ONLY YOU HAD BEEN IN A POSITION TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Always after they retire and have no power or influence, and it’s always to sell books.

    Fuck these fascist enablers.

Sadly, the only ones who will listen are the ones who already believe him. The ones that need to hear it the most have already been programmed to ignore this type of criticism. Even more are thrilled to hear that Trump is a fascist, because that’s what they want.

Mark Milley is a war criminal a good hundred times over. That’s half the reason he got the promotion into head of the Joint Chiefs under Trump to begin with. Cute to see him discovering Trump’s fascism now that it will no longer affect his career, but he’s slightly to the right of Dick Cheney and Elliot Abrams when it comes time to tally the score.

Just Fascist on Fascist infighting, the way I see it. Maybe he can do the world a favor and hand deliver Trump a briefcase. Just don’t leave the room until Trump opens it.

I lack your legal team, so for me to say that it’d be slander. Without your team, I don’t have your conviction. Speaking of which, let us know when you’re prosecuting and we’ll follow it intently.
