Detaining people isn’t free either, we also paid to keep them here longer. The whole thing is immensely stupid.

I like the “needs of all” messaging, it combats polarization. Ultimately we are all human and should have basic rights: food, housing, healthcare, expression

This is point for point the conversation I had with my partner as well. I wish it wasn’t like this, but here we are.

A lot of the anti-car sentiment comes from urban, or European communities where population is a lot more dense.
Rural America will be the absolute lowest priority, because there are fewer people spread farther out. Anyone who wants to make someone feel bad about that is just a dick.

Who looks at this world and wants to bring life into it? I fundamentally cannot wrap my head arround that.
Yeah that’s how most people read it, all good though I don’t mind elaborating. Or apologizing if I hurt feelings. I just don’t really like the image and what it says to me.
Thanks for sharing your perspective. From my experience there is no perfect solution, routines take time and effort to develop. You can put energy into developing routine, wake up one morning and find it doesn’t work anymore. It’s like trying to hit a constantly moving target.
My commentary is about the image. I view it as promoting acceptance of behaviors that are unhealthy. I resent the implication that I’m helpless to my impulses, when I have worked so hard to control them.
Not trying to invalidate anyone’s experience, just sharing mine
Yes, people with ADHD all experience things differently. My experiences don’t invalidate the experiences of others.
I know what ADHD is, I have spent 30 years working on controlling impulsive behaviors in my own treatment. I’m not always successful, but there are absolutely techniques that can help.
Most of these replies seem to assume I have no understanding or empathy for these problems. I just don’t like the image, and the implication that we have absolutely zero control over impulsive decision making.
To control impulses does not mean to cure them. My experiences as a person with ADHD are just as valid as everyone else’s.

Do you even remember the thread you are replying to? I highlighted it well for you.
I suggest you read it again.
You diagnosed a stranger on a forum though a single sentence. Because you felt their views were wrong. Everyone gets to have their opinions, you can disagree without creating an ADHD purity test that you proctor.
I’m definitely a little of both
Because everyone is welcome to their own view. Just because it doesn’t align with your view doesn’t give you license to invalidate and dismiss the experiences of others.
Why do you think the inverse is less problematic?
I can’t read the room I’m neurodiverse, and ADHD is my special interest
I don’t think it’s very kind to diagnose someone from a single sentence
“stop trivializing and dismissing a real neurological condition because you lack the awareness to understand the condition doesn’t impact everyone the same.”
These are assumptions, you are assuming my intent behind my words. Without knowledge of me or my experiences.
We simply have different views, and that’s okay
It’s a bit of both, I believe the man himself is more invested in his own vanity than the white nationalist agenda. However, don’t underestimate the people around him. They are evil not stupid.
