Have they? Because I see a news story about an unofficial private business organization that was founded in Atlanta in 2020 handing a list of purported names to the South African embassy. They very easily could have made all these names up as a publicity stunt hoping it would land some of their members new business from racist Anericans.

Slotkin ought to know where “our people” are since she voted for legislation requiring any immigrant who’s baselessly charged with petty nonsense like shoplifting to be detained (archived).

That is important context, thank you. I still kind of think that taking an assertive stand against what the United States is doing to Germany citizens is the kind of clear call this minister probably ought to feel empowered to make, but on the other hand I have a deep appreciation for government workers who feel their obligations to upholding democratic systems, so this is a hard call to make I suppose.

Remember there are very few controls against creating sock puppet accounts for vote manipulation purposes on a lot of instances. If you get slammed with a bunch of downvotes it’s entirely possible that’s just one person.

I don’t see how people are seeing that Roberts statement as a rejection of Trump. He didn’t say Trump’s name or call out anything specific Trump’s done and he’s demonstrated that he’s perfectly capable of doing that

That title seemed a little biased to me, so I looked up its Wikipedia page, and guess who founded News Channel Nebraska?

So, yeah, it’s entirely possible there was some deceptive editing or some other nonsense, also it’s entirely possible that video will disappear if their founder decides it’s bad for him to have this out there

Yeah, it’s hard for the human mind to comprehend how much money a billion dollars actually is and neither of the two major political parties in this country want to expand it to them

I don’t think that helps, but public opinion of the media is pretty low and fewer people are reading the news all the time, so I don’t think that explains it.

The real problem is that the average person who doesn’t think about politics much and assumes the truth is somewhere to the left of what Republicans are saying and to the right of the Dems constantly hears Dems like Schumer Jeffries Pelosi Hoyer etc. talk about how we need to strengthen the border and fund the police and other stupid shit like that, and it ends up making things like the suspension of asylum rights and giving billions of dollars of taxpayer money to for profit organizations seem like a reasonable middle ground.

I searched for “mike flood town hall” filtering out results after November of 2024 and found a bunch of news stories across 2023 and 2024 talking about him holding townhalls but never found any saying that he’d had a bunch of people show up to yell at him. Seems like whatever this is it’s something different.

Natural result of the massive and constant effort to make the Republican party seem less insane than it is that’s undertaken by both political parties for some reason

It shows the marine band capitulating to the will of this shitty evil scumbag president, and it shows kids having to make do with an improvised group of individuals who will not have the same ability to preserve their program as a government backed effort.
