Netanyahu Sabotaged Captives Release Talks to Prolong the War
Biden officials revealed that Netanyahu deliberately tanked negotiations, fearing a deal would force him to end the war.
American-Israeli hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin was scheduled for release the day he was executed. Amos Hochstein confirmed: “There’s no doubt… those hostages would be alive.”
Netanyahu’s public campaign to retain control over Gaza’s Philadelphi Corridor was viewed by Biden officials as a smokescreen to kill the deal.
I’m not seeing damning proof that Biden didn’t do anything. In fact point two send to imply that Biden was doing shit to get a cease fire.
But if course this is a opinion piece so it’s not like you need to have citations that match the opinion.

Most people supported the impeaching the fat fascist in his last term too and it went nowhere because Republicans, independents voted the hard R.
And what’s different now? Not a damn thing. This will go nowhere outside of calls from the current Democratic leadership mewling pathetically and ineffectively for bipartisanship just like last time.

Today, 3 bed, 1 bath house with less than .25 acres, 200k same BFE area.
With inflation something comparable to my parents house in BFE, because it’s not changed all that much, should only be 100k.
And the recent minimum wage increase to 13.75 an hour passed by the people is in process of being revoked by Republicans.
And I do get tired of visiting home and taking to people that spout off the ‘back in my day’ bs.

They made a conscious decision to tax and create a new revenue source that made them a debt free nation they are today, something we could do here, but not at that scale or expecting the same results because the US is a much larger country, by not coddling the balls of corporations and the ultra wealthy or if the US wants to “drill baby drill”, tax and regulate the new sources of oil and create a SWF.
But again, you seem to completely stuck on the myopic view point of just saying the US has debt hence the US cannot create a SWF because of credit card debt.
And again, plenty of examples of nations that have national debt and deficits but still have and fund a SWF.
Anyways, this conversation is going absolutely nowhere so have a good day.

Also nice to know you think that Norway’s decision to start a sovereign wealth fund was a bad idea.
We can talk about of the US starting a SWF, especially in the age of dumbass Republican rule, is a good or bad idea but your stated fact that these funds are only for nations without debt is still factually incorrect.
inclementimmigrant@lemmy.worldOPto politics @lemmy.world•Trump Continues To Push Idea Of Replacing Income Tax With Tariffs4·1 day agoPatently false.
Any nation can have a sovereign wealth fund, Australia has a sovereign wealth fund and they have national debt, hell even in America there are states with a sovereign wealth fund, even Alaska with their massive deficits and if your referring to Norway, they had national debt until the discovered oil and they created their fund with oil taxes.

Yeah, I can absolutely believe that the citation matches reality since it is a Israeli journalist pointing out how Netanyahu went to lengths to sabotage the peace deal and worked against the Biden administrations attempt at peace.
Still a opinion piece that uses a citation that does not support the argument contained in the opinion piece.
Then again, you can believe that Biden didn’t do enough, can’t say I don’t disagree just not to the extent you do. I simply this think this opinion piece isn’t great.
