  • No they won’t

Nukes are extremely hard to build and ensure they can explode. You’re talking extremely precisely timed explosives that with even a mili second off, will make your heavy nuke turn into a dud. Throwing a bomb right on top of one will not make it go off.

What CAN happen is that an explosion like that ruptures the nuke had throws the fissile material around, effectively making your nuke a dirty bomb.

Also, since they’ve been bombing nuclear facilities I can guarantee you that they have boat loads of very shitty (radioactive) chemicals laying around there which with these bombings now will also be spread around everywhere

  • I don’t mind people bringing valid criticisms to capitalism, it has a lot of problems, but it bugs me that, instead of giving even semi realistic ideas, they come with “communism is flawless!” or “the anarchists way is perfect, nothing could go wrong!”

When you then point out that all communist examples in practice resulted in terrorized citizens, famines and what not, you only get “no true Scotsman!” arguments.

I do agree as well with you that current political rules (well mostly in the US) are shit. Politicians should never need to fund raise at all and should be chosen for their merits, not their skills in “saying something populist in 5 words or less”

  • capitalism is not a system that allows wealth to be distributed from the rich to the poor

That’s like saying that a car does not allow food to be digested.

Capitalism can and should be used as a driver for economic wealth whilst being controlled and capped by law.

You are poor? You pay no taxes. Anybody else pays in brackets and when your net worth reaches 10 million? Anything above it gets taxed 100%. Same for companies, limit them to 500-1000 employees maximum, net worths maximum 100 million or a billion or something like that.

This makes it that nobody gets too rich, nobody gets too powerful and the government gets a huge amount of tax wealth which it can use for a giant social system that gives free healthcare, education, housing, you name it. You could then egen umdo universal income and it requires no communism, no forcing people, no taking away of rights.

  • Okay, a few things to unpack here.

Yeah, you need service roads. In the Netherlands they have the city center streets completely blocked off from traffic, only bicycles and pedestrians are allowed.

Once a day, usually 7-9 am, a hydrolic pole will lower at the entrances, allowing small supply trucks in to supply the stores. These trucks will have two hours to get their business done and leave. If the poles go up before they’re out, no worries, they can be lowered on demand for special circumstances or will just auto lower from the inside, not the outside.

Also only small delivery trucks are allowed. I’m in Vancouver and I’m amazed how they sometimes use trailer trucks in the fucking city center. What is wrong with you? You don’t need enormous trucks, literally.

In the Netherlands, all centers gave tile roads and it isn’t a problem because we use smaller trucks there.

The result is predictable. The city centers are amazing, everyone loves them, and ita always crowded like hell because these are human spaces, not car spaces

Car spaces are awful, dangerous and nobody wants to be there. Make human spaces!

Then move. Go away. Yes you can, it’s just a matter of what you’re willing to give up. Walk to a different state if you have to, because at this point even homelessness sounds better than what you’re experiencing.

I feel for you, I really do, but your life -in part- is what you make it. Yeah, life throws lemons at you, but its up to you to respond to that and make it something. You have the choice of staying there, brooding and complaining, or you can do something.

Join a protest group? Find like-minded people to hang out with? Maybe star driving somewhere, leave your state? Whatever you do, do something, don’t just accept the status quo you’re in now. Anything is better than just being miserable

You have only one life, make it fucking matter. Make a differece for yourself, then once you’re okay, go in and make a difference for others. If not that, start first with others and that difference for yourself will come.

Ah sure, have hobbies, do whatever you want, do whatever you like (as long as you don’t hurt or inconvenience others), just BE HAPPY. If happiness to you is being alone in a block hut on the mountain then you’re different from me, and that’s fine. Live and let live.

My wife and I just happen to be so close that we want to just always be together and do everything together. We love our quality time together and I prefer my time with her over my hobby time so hobbies kinda went exit
