Steve Bannon, as much of a piece of shit as he is, had a good plan and executed it well. He’s talked about it openly. This has been brewing for decades, at least.

That’s essentially how they wrote the song, so yeah! I can see it. I’d watch this.

Watsky, et al - Exquisite Corpse
For best results this should be cheesy B-movie as hell, the song really leans into it I think
Oh I keep this one memorized.
[Mr. Madison,] What you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I’ve successfully used this twice in DnD and once in real life.
- skulblaka@sh.itjust.workstoLinux Gaming@lemmy.world•Steam Beta finally enables Proton on Linux fully, making Linux gaming simplerEnglish8·2 天前
It comes down to how much the publishers care about their own product. Devs shoveling third party kernel anti-cheat into their product often cause those games to be Linux incompatible. Devs bundling their own unnecessary launcher with the game and requiring it to run the launcher in order to run the game sometimes cause those games to be Linux incompatible. It often isn’t even the devs themselves making this decision, which is why I blame the publisher more than the developers in most cases.
But with how robust Proton has become these days there isn’t a whole lot outside of those two cases that will make a game not run on Linux. It’s pretty intentional at this point.

So please explain then? I’d love to know why a stranger on the internet thinks that financially contributing to industrialized murder is funny. Please do elaborate.

It’s objectively not an opinion, where the fuck do you think that money goes?
And sure, $20 here doesn’t matter. When a million other people also invest $20 “as a gag” or more trying to make a profit, whoops, that’s $20 million plus worth of death. They don’t make anything else. Only death.
Websites that are glorified shopping carts with maybe three dynamic pages are maintained by teams of people around the clock, because the truth is everything is breaking all the time, everywhere, for everyone. Right now someone who works for Facebook is getting tens of thousands of error messages and frantically trying to find the problem before the whole charade collapses. There’s a team at a Google office that hasn’t slept in three days. Somewhere there’s a database programmer surrounded by empty Mountain Dew bottles whose husband thinks she’s dead. And if these people stop, the world burns. Most people don’t even know what sysadmins do, but trust me, if they all took a lunch break at the same time they wouldn’t make it to the deli before you ran out of bullets protecting your canned goods from roving bands of mutants.

For directly and unapologetically funding the death and destruction of human lives?
Yes. Yes you are.

I prefer modern toxic over 2008-era XBL lobbies though.
Maybe that’s just me. But I get a lot less annoyed by a “GG ez” than I do by an 8-year-old shouting seven consecutive minutes of racial slurs into his mic at the top of his lungs.

I don’t like his movies but I respect his hustle. He has enough money to approach an agent and tell them “I want to make this movie, I want to cast all my friends in it, and I want my character to walk away with a hot date at the end” and the agent just says okay.
They’re pretty much all the same movie with different names on them. But it’s pretty clear that everyone involved in those movies was just having a great time making them.

Any specifics? I would like to know. I recommend his books frequently.
So much so that King famously doesn’t actually remember writing Cujo

You don’t see how cultural relevance has caused HBO to cut JK Rowling a check in order to make this show, which she then turns around and donates to anti-trans organizations?
Pirate or not, people watching and interacting with this stuff and talking about it with other people keeps it in the public consciousness. As long as it remains part of the zeitgeist then Rowling continues to profit from it.
It’s quite easy to find other, better stories about wizards that don’t directly fund bigotry. I recommend Dresden Files.

“Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.”
I started doing this more properly when I kept finding myself with contacts like “Jim Applebee’s” and “McFucker” and having zero idea who they were actually ever attached to
If your hardware is lower end it isn’t useless. If I skip that then I get pretty bad stuttering in some games when new things are loaded in. If I let them cook in advance then that doesn’t happen.
If your GPU is good enough (or your game potato-friendly enough) to compute shaders on the fly without issue then yeah it’s pretty much useless.
