Summary
Federal health workers are alarmed after the “DEI Watch List” website published names, photos, and salaries of employees, mainly Black, labeling them “targets” for involvement in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
The conservative American Accountability Foundation runs the site, which has sparked fears of doxxing and intimidation.
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently issued memos demanding an end to DEI-related work, escalating paranoia. Some staff have been placed on leave.
Wonder where they are getting their information. Wonder if it’s legal.
Info about fed employees’ names, job titles, and salaries is publicly available info, bc the government is actually more transparent than the slack-jawed yokels will have you believe. Kinda like how your political party affiliation and whether you voted is publicly available.
There unfortunately are legal ways to get such information (and much more) with a bit of money, but I somehow doubt they are smart enough for that. I suspect they have someone leaking internal information, which could be illegal.
