Wasn’t the Artemis Program advertised to land the first woman and first person of color in the moon? Well, I think Elon wanted to cancel the whole thing anyway (Except the NASA funding for his new rocket, of course).
Artemis does seem like the third most practical way to get there. Maybe it would be better to put that money to more effective use. Like it or not, SpaceX is a leading contender
