I’m not that surprised. With George Bush Junior, his approval plummeted, going from 90%+ after 9/11 basically straight down after that, until a few months before the election, when marketing dollars pumped his ratings up to just squeak out a victory, leaving the country suffering under Republican reign for another 4 years.

With more targeted propaganda now, I am willing to bet that the tap was immediately turned off, so a relentless stream of misinformation stopped overnight.
