Their motivation seems to be that turmoil offers billionaires new opportunities to make more money, and they may also hope to strengthen their dealings with Russian oligarchs.

Well I’m mostly thinking they’re gonna benefit depending on how ignored they end up being in any potential conflict, as a consequence of not being in that conflict. That’s mostly speculation, I don’t have anything to actually back it up beyond my meanderings

Unfortunately, Central Africa would get deeply pulled into such conflict given its vast rare earth resources, so I doubt they could benefit.

last time I visited West Africa there was an incredible amount of Chinese investment going in. With the US abandoning soft power, I can’t see how China wouldn’t use this vacuum to take over the US’s role.
