Got them at Costco because I’m dull.

But on the way home my car went into limp mode with a check engine light and a computer error light.

Called Costco and they said “we just did the tires” but when I reset the system by disconnecting the battery the traction control, power steering, and tire pressure lights came on.

And it’s still in limp mode.

Taking her to my guy later today.

Thanks Costco.

ETA: Turns out my coil packs and spark plugs went bad, it was just a coincidence that it happened after the tires.

ETA II: My guy said the spark plugs were all the wrong kind.

I’d imagine they mean wheel speed sensor which is used by the ABS/traction control to detect which tire is slipping/locked up. Usually just a magnet that reads high/low spots on a ring of some sort.

Ahh, that makes sense. I figured it was something I was just unaware of, even when I was in the shop I didn’t do much more than basic maintenance type tasks for the most part.

In my case the wheel position sensor is also an indirect TPMS, because a low tire will rotate faster
