    It’s about more than the tariffs. It’s about market uncertainty and the US breaking its trade deals. Canada isn’t going to match Trump’s actions in a reactive manner; Canada is going to respond to Trump’s behavior in a manner that protects the future of Canadian sovereignty. It appears this is a response Trump didn’t expect because it’s not a measured response he would have himself.

      That’s a good point. Uncertainty hurts businesses and investors harder than you would think. People will go to extreme lengths to mitigate uncertainty, which usually has a negative impact on the economy. Now Canada is creating certainty about one thing.

      Trump’s actions are all over the place, which probably causes lots of uncertainty in the US as well. I have a feeling it’s going to take years to repair the damage he leaves behind.
