Yesterday the handle to the freezer door broke off in my hand as I was openning it.

I’ve had it for 10 years so it did laat a while.

I was able to find and order the part online from a local vendor and to my surprise it arrived this afternoon (ordered last night around 19:00).

I looked up the instructions and almost laughed at how simple it is. Installed in less than a minute.

Very satisfying!

    I’m right there with you.

I almost enjoy tuning up my dryer. It’s relatively easy to pop the cover off and redo rollers and the belt and they sell it as a little kit.

About once every 10 years. Though I have a 20 year old dryer that just started squeaking on occasion. It’s because they use bushings instead of a proper sealed bearing.

You can get the kit on Amazon for $15-$20, depending on the dryer.

I’m probably not the best to ask… I’m just sensitive to annoying sounds, so any time it starts getting a bit squeaky or making a sound out of the norm I pull it down and redo it. Every couple years seems to be about the pattern for me.

If you do it though, don’t use wet lube on anything, it will absorb the lint and become an abrasive goo that will prematurely wear down parts.
