Disney will build its seventh theme park, this one in the United Arab Emirates, the entertainment company announced on Wednesday.

The waterfront resort will be built on Yas Island on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi, already home to Formula One’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the Ferrari and Warner Bros. amusement parks, SeaWorld and a waterpark.

    Oh, it’s definitely not

It’s superficially flashy, but it’s built on slavery and horrific abuse

It’s a “nice place” for people who are wilfully ignorant

There are human rights abuses and there is an entire class of people who work as live in “servants” with horrible working conditions.

Probably better than the conditions of a typical Chinese factory, and pretty analogous to immigrant manual laborers in the US.

“built on slavery and horrific abuse” is a bit of American propaganda and it’s shocking people still eat it full throated. They pay skilled foreign workers insane amounts of money.

        Here’s the kicker:

        I’m not a yank

        It’s a disgraceful country

They have an army of people from Nepal, India and other places where they take their passports from them, and treat them terribly

        It’s slavery

White foreigners get paid ridiculously well

The whole region is built on cruelty and the rest of the world turning a blind eye, or just being ignorant to it.
