Sorry, but I don’t believe private companies should receive public funding. Hopefully, things get as bad as these articles make it seem, and people vote for some actual publicly-funded, publicly-ran childcare services.
The government should absolutely be putting its finger on the economic scale. For example, by subsidizing green energy project research and development. Lots of stuff isn’t immediately profitable, but if R&D is done by the government it can be far too slow. Subsidies help get the best of both worlds.
