…Is there no way to keep access to NSFW communities but not have straight up porn constantly coming into my feed? Because I am rarely at risk for needing to hide away from NSFW content, but on the other hand I have no interest in the content of 100 different niche porn communities randomly flowing into my feed.

    • I’ve not messed around much with the actual web interface, but all 3 of the apps on Android I’ve tried (Connect, Jerboa, and Liftoff) gave options to hide NSFW content unless you were browsing the community directly.

Right; appreciate that, but that’s not actually what I want. What I want is to be able to browse All and have any content come up as long as it isn’t something that is literally just porn. Like: a meme caption that features a person scantily clad on a beach is fine. A video of a crazy lady screaming and taking her top off? Hilarious. A post that is just “Jessica Smith loves sucking cock” in a “!cumguzzlers” community? Ideally somehow excluded from my list.

It was not a problem in reddit simply because those posts were just not upvoted enough to appear in the All feeds unless you browsed by “New”, but here nothing is upvoted enough to block.

I guess I’ll just block the communities as they come up.

Reddit actually at one point changed the behavior of /all to not include subs that were wholly NSFW. Prior to that you’d often see gonewild posts that had, indeed, garnered enough up votes to make it.

I used to like that. I got to browse cool and interesting content from all kinds of different sources while also being constantly low-key horny. When they took porn out of r/all is the day Reddit died.

If you browse all in your communities settings it’ll show everything including the NSFW lemmy content.

Just create a separate account on the instance and filter it to subscribed by default.

You can block communities while browsing. Won’t do much up front but as you slog through the main feeds you should be able to push out what you don’t want.

You can subscribe to communities on lemmynsfw.com and they should show up on your feed on lemmy.world. I’m not an expert on Lemmy or the fediverse so if thats wrong then someone feel free to correct me.
