The U.K. paper confirmed it had removed the letter because of its sudden surge in popularity on TikTok and other social media sites.

“The TikToks are from people of all ages, races, ethnicities, and backgrounds,” journalist Yashar Ali wrote on social media. “Many of them say that reading the letter has opened their eyes, and they’ll never see geopolitical matters the same way again. Many of them—and I have watched a lot—say it has made them reevaluate their perspective on how what is often labeled as terrorism can be a legitimate form of resistance to a hostile power.”

    oh boy

This is why freedom of speech is so necessary.

Without it, one side will abuse censorship to promote their ideology.

Children think it’s fun when it’s their side doing the abuse, but love to cry when someone else is doing it.

Hypocrites. And I’m glad they don’t have much power.

I don’t understand why that is such a difficult concept for people to grasp.

        (2) The second thing we call you to, is to stop your oppression, lies, immorality and debauchery that has spread among you.

        (a) We call you to be a people of manners, principles, honour, and purity; to reject the immoral acts of fornication, homosexuality, intoxicants, gambling’s, and trading with interest.

“We hate your way of life and your support of Israel.”

I mean, it’s the same as the Gaza conflict. People support protecting the abuse of innocent people, but recognize that Sharia law is a load of bullshit.

It’s possible, now stay with me. It’s at least possible some of what this guy said is good, even though most of it is bad. Right? It’s at least… possible?

Part a sounds like it could’ve instead been written by a Christian extremist. Whoever writes stuff like this can get fucked.

Still, understanding someone’s perspective can be helpful. Of course you can understand it without agreeing with it. The more perspectives you get, the more you can look at your own and re-evaluate it. Learning more about history helps a lot, too.

Like, it is quite clear that the US and UK have done plenty of fucking around in the Middle East for the past century and keep finding out, as a result. Bin Laden’s terrorism, this mess with Gaza, and the Iranian hostage crisis are examples.

I found the first half of the letter very eye opening and the second half absolutely insane, so hopefully other people either have some reasoning skills or are at least too lazy to read the whole thing.

        (b) It is saddening to tell you that you are the worst civilization witnessed by the history of mankind:

        (i) You are the nation who, rather than ruling by the Shariah of Allah in its Constitution and Laws, choose to invent your own laws as you will and desire. You separate religion from your policies, contradicting the pure nature which affirms Absolute Authority to the Lord and your Creator.
