Rio Rancho officers talk with Cardana about the firearms inside the home.

“You’re a firearms guy?” an officer asked.

    “Oh, yeah,” Cardana said.

    “Nice,” the officer said.

“They’re loaded. They’re ready to go,” Cardana said.

“We don’t need to see them,” the officer said. “There’s one probably right there in that case. And I see another one over there.”

The officer continued saying, “I like folks that have guns,” since he is a gun owner himself. As the officers begin to say their goodbyes to Cardana and Fannell, she begs them to stay at the home.

You cannot make this stuff up.

Yeah, but you cut off the most insane part:

“What did you say?” Fannell asked.

“I said you’re fine until I kill you,” Cardana said.

“All right? He’s threatened to do that,” Fannell said to the Rio Rancho police officers.

“Get out of here now,” Cardana said to the officers. “Go away.”

The two officers leave, and four hours later, 911 receives another call.

Just… wow. Gun nuts will never do anything against other gun nuts I guess.

They are merely recognizing that “gun enthusiasm” is a fetish to the enthusiasts.

Well, it’s weird and gross. It also pushes away anyone that owns guns and would be willing to compromise

“As a responsible gun owner I wanted common sense gun legislation, but then someone compared my hobby to a sexual fetish, and now I think convicted domestic abusers have a right to own an AR-15”

                lol

Put words in my mouth more, daddy.

Then keep wondering why no legislation gets passed even though 68% of the US supports stricter gun laws, me included.

This could be the most hamfisted bit of manipulation and tone policing I’ve ever seen.

“We were just about to compromise after 25 years of spitting on children for not being pro-gun enough after their school shooting, but then I wasn’t allowed to tone police a comment that quoted two legal gun owners flirting over the upcoming murder of a vulnerable person, so instead I’m going to align myself with domestic abusers, murderers and extremists”.

You should be thankful you’re not being called far, far worse things.

Gunowners aren’t a monolith, and treating them as such is a great way to alienate potential allies

But by all means, keep spitting on gunowners for 25 years, that’ll make a difference.

I’ve got a neat concept for you that you might have never heard of, it’s called “compromise”. It’s where both sides of a negotiation get some, but not all of what they want.
