I can’t fathom how my relatives under 50 still remain in texas.

They basically hate women, and want to push vindictive bullshit - even if this woman is afforded agency over her own body, Paxton has said he’ll sue the docs nurses and medical center.

They took books about slavery out of the plantation gift shop. https://lemm.ee/post/17334830

I remember Ann Richards, what the fuck, Texas… what the actual fuck.

If people who disagree with the Republicans always leave, then the Republicans will be unopposed and will always win. This is throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

Children growing up in Texas can see first-hand the intentional cruelty of the ruling party, and I believe that is why the GOP will eventually lose, and their only chance for the near future is unlawfully seizing power.

In a vacuum you’re not wrong, but the real-world implication is that you’re asking parents to willingly subject their children to the cruelty of the GOP to maybe have a chance of changing it in the future.

Do children have to be in a school shooting to know that they shouldn’t happen? Do they have to see their classmate forced to carry their rapist’s baby to know that abortion should be allowed in at least some circumstances? Do they have to freeze with no power to learn that a privatized power grid will always prioritize its profits over their health?
