Another common mistake is cutting into to many small glades. Each glade you cut into increases the hostility permanently. The resources gained from the dangerous glades (skull over it) are much higher.

Hostility also goes up for every wood cutter you have so early on in the storm you can often get away with temporarily removing a few woodcutters to reduce hostility and keep everyone happy during the storm.
