An adventurer has her first encounter with the most costly enemy: a green slime. These creatures, while not dangerous to one’s life, can completely dissolve any non-living matter including that expensive adventuring gear. One of the more common lessons an amateur will learn is to bring spare clothes or face a long walk of shame back to town.
Prompt 1 - Green Slime Women
I started this one off with an idea of a green slime dripping down from a cave ceiling and dissolving clothes. I first attempted to create this directly from a prompt. In general, I would call it a complete failure.

Prompt 2 - Adventurer
For the next prompt I tried starting with a female adventurer in full gear with the hope that I could selectively remove or add detail later on. I focused on getting a pose, body, and background that would act as a template. The idea seemed to work.

Prompt 3 - A threat appears
Working off the last prompt, I added some options for looking upwards and a scared expression. There is a threat hanging from the ceiling, act like it! I just kept generating images until something hit for me. In this case, it was the third image in the third set of 16. 1 good image out of 48, yikes.

Revisions - Can we make her look better?
Next I moved to img2img and started revising. The first idea was to improve the general pose and increase chest size since it was going to be a main focal point, (Also, boobs.) After 3 images, I added “busty” as a parameter.

Revisions - Inpainting 1
The next round of revisions moved to inpainting to try and target the areas I wanted to improve. The first was the breasts and the straps across the chest. I wanted these to be visually interesting both intact and when dissolved.
After that, I moved to the shoulder and breast area and finally added the green slime in. I changed the prompt and played with new images and areas to improve the translucence and green goop clusters. I also added areas such as the side of her head and a few drips onto her arm, pouch, and backpack.
After that, I moved onto improving the face. I used the original prompt on her face, but instantly changed it because WOW is that bad.

Revisions - Inpainting 2
The last round of revisions involved fixing the face to have some normal looking eyes and an expression of concern. This wasn’t suppose to be life-threatening, but she is not in for a good adventure at this rate.
I also finally adding some drips from the ceiling to show where the slime came from. I like to imagine the slime is nearly translucent until it detaches and starts dissolving things. Perhaps the heat from her torch caused it to attack and that is why she is holding it low now?
There were two images that just… didn’t change anything really? Whatever, I eventually got some very nice drips that really helped to tell the story here.

Extras - Scale it up!
The last set was to scale it up a bit. The first upscaler I used was Lanczos which worked, but made it feel more blurry.
The second upscaler I used was R-ESRGAN 4x+ Anime6B which gave the whole thing a more painterly look I quite like.
If you made it here, I hope this was informative for my process. The final image really was exactly what I wanted, minus some dramatic camera angles but those can be real pain to achieve.
Thank you for this post and extremely detailed description of the process. I usually give up after the first rewriting of the prompt and just blame the loras and start over with different ones. Seeing how you worked through this has given me some insight on what I need to learn next. I haven’t even learned how to do the last three steps yet. Tremendously helpful
