      It’s extremely unlikely to ever have a presidential candidate and VP candidate from the same state. Part of the election strategizing involves picking a VP candidate from some second state, to try to get that state’s citizens to vote for their guys.

        Even more important is that electors can’t vote for a President and VP from the same state. It’s why (for example) Dick Cheney changed his residence to Wyoming in 2000.

          Huh, I had no idea. I guess I’m not really surprised, based on our country’s history of division amongst the states.

          That is where his legal residence is, so yes, in this context.
