Really? I didn’t know downvotes were disabled. That’s an interesting decision. It makes sense though. Even back on reddit, I was very judicial with a downvote. I only used them if the post violated some rule, like it didn’t fit with the sub. I didn’t give them if I simplky didn’t like the post or disagreed with what it said. But a lot of people didn’t exercise that constraint, so I understand the decision here.
For clarity: your instance still shows the downvotes but LemmyNSFW does not. I did not realise well enough you are not on the same instance so I initially was “alarmed” that you were seeing something you should not see (had you been on the same instance as the community is hosted by). It makes more sense now. And I am glad you are understanding towards the admins’ decision (on LemmyNSFW).
