Jesse Kipf pleaded guilty to computer fraud and identity theft after he created a fake death certificate for himself

A man in southern Kentucky has admitted in court to faking his own death to avoid paying more than $100,000 in outstanding child support to his ex-wife.

Jesse Kipf, 39, pleaded guilty on 29 March in federal court to computer fraud and identity theft after he accessed Hawaii’s death registry system and posed as a doctor from another state in order to create a fake death certificate for himself.

According to a plea agreement filed in court, Kipf filled out a Hawaii death certificate worksheet in early 2023, essentially assigned himself as the medical certifier for the case and certified his own death.

Personally i dont believe in spousal child support as forced financial obligations on parents just creates resentment (sometimes rightfully so), is often used as a form of revenge in family court, and since women have the ultimate say in pregnancy I feel men should have an say in finances towards a child they may not have wanted. (Before ppl get their pitchforks and scream responsibility, accidents happen and there’s no such thing as a 100% contraceptive)

That being said I think the state should give single parents the ability to take care of children on their own. Forcing a shit parent to pay $1000 a month isnt a magic fix all. Offering child care, food assistance, better schools, and other benefits for parents would lead to healthier child development over all

As Republicans try taking the decision on the pregnancy from women, they should be held accountable for childcare payments. Socialized childcare, that’ll make them happy 💕
