There’s a QR code on r/place that links here and it seems some of the pixels are suddenly changing without any users attached to those changes – unlike everywhere else

Yeah the admins are definitely fucking around with it. But why would anyone think trying to make a QR code on r/place is a good idea?
You can make them very robust at error correction. Arguably more so than text.
