The issue with the high-paying medical profession is that it attracts 2 kinds of people: nice people who want to do good and help people, and self-centered people who want to feel powerful and in-control while making a bunch of money. Have a friend that’s finishing med school and going to residency this summer. Everything about it is insane and they all know it and power through. If you get accepted you’re moving around more than the military and paying through the nose for the privilege while seemingly half the “teachers” (working doctors) are worked to death and the other half are completely checked out.
