Surprisingly, Rockstar have now added BattlEye anti-cheat to Grand Theft Auto V / GTA Online, and sadly it seems they have not enabled the support for Linux desktop and Steam Deck with Valve's Proton. ARTICLE UPDATED.

Who cares about Rockstar’s opinion of “grounds?” Valve should simply do it anyway, and kick Rockstar off Steam entirely if it bitches about it.
That’s a good way to lose a lawsuit, end up giving all the money back plus interest and punitive amts, potential damages, etc. Smort.
Since GTA is a money printing machine. i doubt they’d ever do that
