I’d very much prefer to get to know people over making snap judgements. There’s something interesting about the rationalisations people make when you ask them to make what is an automatic subconscious process a deliberate conscious activity, it can imply some interesting things about what said person perceives, values, and chooses to communicate to the type of audience. A sort of hidden depth in the shallowness.
