Meanwhile, the old lady across the street specifically came over to my place to show off her purple hair. Not old-lady-purple, but all the way eggplant purple.

I endeavor to one day give as few fucks as her.

Fuck yeah, dude. I love your inclusion of “not old lady purple”, because my first thought was, “Oh, yeah. They do that.”

On that topic… Why do old ladies dye their hair old lady purple? For years I thought each incident of it was just an accident… Like, maybe old ladies try to add a bit of maroon to their hair and it doesn’t play well with the gray, so it comes out purple… But I no longer think that’s the case.

They are using dye to go full silver or light grey, maybe all the hair hasn’t grayed or its at different shades. They use a toner to get the last of the darker colors out of the dye but, incorrect toner levels leave behind toner color, usually purple or blue. Source, I dye my hair many colors for many decades and tried the silver myself.

I get the point you’re making, but dyed hair, tattoos, and piercings are decorative, and decorations (by definition) draw attention.

I get the point they’re making but what they consider “old people” fuckin invented dyed hair, tattoos and piercings

They’re only likely to stare because they’re thinking “wish I’d thought of that”

This is like a reverse boomer meme

Jealousy, they don’t believe in themselves to pull it off…

They are scared of what thier peers might say…

They could be rocking this if they were brave:

Why is everything an attack or being angry at someone, or jealousy?

God forbid someone be a bit shocked at something they have not been exposed to.

        Ah, sorry about that.

I did not mean it to be taken seriously, it was meant as a jest or joke while showing off an awesome and unique hairstlyle!

hahaha, must be a great ice breaker for when you want to meet new peeps, esp. those that like someone that lives in a pineapple!

Old people ask you not to stare at people that can’t help how they look. Piercings and hair dye are not medical conditions as far as I know.

Idk, I seem to recall that when I was (more of) a young’un, I was told that staring was rude across the board.

Bull. The old ladys back home loved nothing more than to gossip and discuss the way people decided to look. They drew the line at people who can’t help the way they look. Pretty solid logic if you ask me.
