I think it is reasonable to expect a technological leap after waiting 11 years.
They will now support crypto as payment for GTA online.
An auto update will brick millions of copies around the world.
I’m sure despite this it’ll still somehow be so unoptimized that you need a minimum of a $2000 pc to run it
Oh your lowballing that. If they’re already trying to get ahead of this, that can’t be a good sign.
They should rename it to GTAfield man’s sky
$2000 only buys you a gpu. Gotta choke up another $2000 for the rest of the computer lol.
I mean…one of the largest complaints I see people making about the current console generation is that everything is still cross gen? PS5 has no exclusives etc. So this seems false.
Have you played a GTA game on PC? They’re all so poorly optimized to the point some are unusable. Not to mention bizarre choices. GTA IV used games for windows live which became its own shit show when it went EoL. GTA V/Online took forever to get to PC and didn’t even have all the features when it did release. Also minor gripe but I think it shows how little they thought about PC: the default controls for flying a helicopter (required in several missions) use a numpad. Numpads aren’t even popular on keyboards anymore, let alone the fact that nobody will ever intuitively guess those controls. RStar doesn’t care about PC at all, and even further, Linux/steam deck support is a pipe dream
GTA5 and RD2 play perfectly well in linux. You don’t have to do much to make it work either. Stop spreading bullshit
I can’t say that the one-two punch of “we’re using just so much AI in this one!” and “lower your expectations” has inspired much confidence for GTA6 in me. Sounds to me like AAA developers hoping for another best selling media item of all time may be “dissapointed” as well.
Heavily doubt that last part, rockstar could literally sell a turd and the general population will line up out the door to pay $60-$70 to eat it. The kind of people that preorder a digital copy farrrr outweighs the sort that actually care to see if the game is good or not first.
What I’m reading here is that GTA6 will be a new short story made in the GTA5 engine that has the sole purpose of pushing people into GTAO2.
I mean, I feel like even the jump between 4 and 5 wasn’t that massive. San Andreas to 4 went from chunky polygons to rather realistic graphics. GTA 5 feels almost like a HD remaster in comparison.
But of course, there may be a difference in expectation, since there were five years between 4 and 5, and currently scheduled to be twelve years between 5 and 6.
4 and 5 were both designed for the same console, and that console was released in 2005 - only 2 years after Vice City.
6 is being designed for consoles 2 generations and 7 years separated from GTA 5’s release. It better be better.
I can’t be the only one who simply wants the physics and damage like they had in GTA IV. I feel like GTAV was a real big step down in terms of the driving. Just wasn’t as satisfying to me.
5 feels worse in the ways that matter. The physics in 4 was so fun and dynamic, and in 5 they feel like they’re aiming for realism.
To me, they removed the part of the game that makes it being open world fun.
I wasn’t really expecting 6 to be anything but GTA5 with different characters.
So basically it’s GTA5 DLC at a 70 dollar price tag?
GTA may “surprise” players unaware of a microtransactional “jump”, says former Rockstar North tech director
Here, enjoy the base game for $80. Sign up for the EA-inspired, Rockstar Plus for $12.99/mo for anything fun in the game. Buy new skins and weapons on the GTA store by stopping into any one of the shops spread across the GTA Map. For an additional, $5 per month, become a priority member and gain first access to our artificially limited services!
advanced tech is not what I’m looking for from GTA 6.
If that means the cars drive like they’re glued to the ground like in GTAV, yeah I’ll be disappointed.
