Trump himself gave them legal status 3 times during his presidency. This charade needs to end, we all need to vote and shame the morons who are keeping this asshole relevant.

You can just go to the Federal Register. TPS is a special status that has a maximum 16 month expiration. It is allocated by the President via Homeland security. It has to be renewed every 16 months. The first renewal under Trump was July, 2017 for 6 months, then a renewal in January, 2018 and again in July, 2019.

Looks like the 2017 extension happened, but in January 2018 they terminated TPS for Haiti. They extended the benefits for people already receiving TPS until July 2019 if they re-registered, but that was the cutoff. That cutoff was extended because they got sued and were waiting on the result of the suit.

This reminds me the time, when a white supremacist Latino former friend of mine recommended me deep red states to immigrate to if I want to go to the US to live

If the USA deports all legal immigrants only the natives will remain. Venezuela will be quite busy.

is haiti pronounced “high-tea” or “hate-y”?

am asking because if it’s the latter, it should be any bigot’s favourite country.
