So it’s a Bond reboot origin story?

Really suckling at the teat of originality, aren’t we

But did either of those boomers floss over the corpses of their enemies while huffing insane amounts of galaxy gas, then say “The names Toilet. Skibidi Toilet”. This could be the shot in the arm that the James Bond franchise needed!

I feel like my understanding of today’s youth is in on par with the average game publisher. And for that reason I am not anticipating this game.

i don’t get hitman. the game provides all these cool guns, but in order to get top ranking on missions, you have to use exactly ZERO of them. wtf?

You can’t kill non-targets, be caught doing anything illegal, or let any bodies get discovered (unless it was an accident kill), but you absolutely can use guns. You can use them on the target, shoot out cameras, use them for distraction or panic shots, blast open locked doors, drop them on the ground to pull an NPC off their route, etc.

The game is a sandbox. They give you a ton of tools and it’s up to you to figure out how to use them. You’re meant to play each level over and over in a variety of ways (as shown by all the mastery challenges) and having all these different tools at your disposal is part of what makes that fun. But if what’s fun for you is to mow everyone down with a shotgun, then go for it. There’s no in-game incentive to try for silent assassin on every run.

I really enjoy watching Hitman competitions on YouTube. You’ll have like one person blowing up propane tanks, one person sniping the targets from across the map, and one person using poison and tasers, with all of them finishing with the top ranking and within seconds of each other. It’s wild to me how many viable ways the game gives you to kill targets and how creative it allows you to be.

Yup. I remember as a kid playing the old hitmans for hours and hours cause of this. Replaying a certain stupid fucking snow level to get a specific sniper rifle and such also. Did I ever use that sniper. Probably not lmao

High scores runs are for people who want to optimize the fun out of the game.

Then there are fun things for everyone else.

    What interests me more:

    • Will a mostly single player game again be online only?
    • Will there be elsusive targets or similar parts of the game, where I pay for something that I might not be able to access, because If I don’t have time or want to play in a specific week I won’t be able to access it?
    • Are you going to sell us the game in parts and over and over again until I end up like I do now on EPIC where I have no way of actually knowing what content I own and which I don’t own and having to buy the elusive targets twice (once when they were timed and now that they are not anymore)?

IO Interactive makes good games, but they got away with a lot of shite every other developer would get crucified over. I am just waiting for the day Hitman gets unplyable because they shut off the servers.

No matter how good their next IP will be, if they go on with these practices, then I am not buying. It is unnecessary and anti consumer and there are more good games than I can play in a life time that allow offline play and where I don’t need a spread sheet to find out what content I want/need.
