In the Netherlands he is known as Guust Flater, in French as Gaston…Guust being a part of a bigger Dupuis ‘universe’

    I think I’ve read most of the volumes back when I was a kid. And this page doesn’t do it justice. Even the meta jokes are awesome (it takes place in the same publishers office where the comic was actually made)

    Franquin took the comic to art level. The way he was able to draw movement has no equal, for example.

    If you want to have your mind blown, read the “Ideés Noires”, an adult oriented strip, black on white, (hence the ñame), created while he was under severe depression. I think Goya would have approved.
