One of the biggest successes of the G20 Summit 2023 under India’s presidency was the announcement of India-Middle East-Europe economic corridor, but one of the leaders of the group member countries, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has been opposing it.

The Turkish leader is unhappy as his country has been bypassed in creation of the trade corridor that would link Asia to Europe.

If the tyrant Erdogan (same thing for Orban and those other autocrat dickbags) is unhappy that’s a sign that at least something is going in the right direction.

If we picked all of the asshole tyrant heads of state (add billionaire techbros while we’re at it) it would look like Battle Royal back when WWF was still a thing with twenty freaks in the ring at the same time. And for every punch that lands you could cheer because it never hits anyone who didn’t deserve it.

It would seem to me that turkey has nothing to do with this deal. It doesn’t seem to involve their territory and there is no leverage. Am I missing something or is Erdogan just making random statements to sound cool?

Ig they could choke the traffic currently going through Turkey, proving why this is needed. Other than that, not much

No rail through Iran either. I think there’s a reason why it wasn’t done before.
