Hi all, just a brief meta post to see if there is something that needs changing/improving in the community. Contributions have been rather… lacking… and I’m wondering if it’s that the current content isn’t appealing or something else? Happy for suggestions Fox
Thanks for all your great work, @SneakyFox! I feel like contributions are down across this whole instance of late. I’ve noticed it on other communities I subscribe to. So, first and foremost, I think it’s more an instance issue versus a c/spanking issue. Second, you are kind of competing with c/domesticdiscipline, which has a very active mod. There’s so much quiet on Lemmy, I think many users tend to go where the crowds are versus help prop up quiet communities - but that’s speculative. Finally, I posted a great ‘overcoming my internalized stigma about spanking fetish’ article on c/domesticdiscipline recently, versus your community - which was my first choice based on content relevance, because your sidebar didn’t suggest that non-image posts are welcome here. You could revise the sidebar submission guidelines around that. I’m also not purely interested in M spanking F scenes. The c/domesticdiscipline sidebar mentions it’s LGBTQ+ inclusive, which is very attractive to me as a contributor and lurker. I hope some of that is helpful :P
Hi, thanks for the detailed response! I do agree that the community seems to be competing with c/domesticdiscipline and their admin who is very active and knowlegable from the look of things, we did briefly discuss working together at some point. I feel this community is more specific than c/domesticdiscipline, though I admit I do not have a clear plan for what I want to do here going forward.
Regarding the sidebar, yes I agree that I need to update and work on that. Any discussion relating to spanking (though ofc not against minors) is welcome and discussions/questions should be encouraged. Il have a think on what I can do to try and encourage these types of posts, and if you have any suggestions for changes/additions I would love to hear what you think. I mainly discuss spanking content on discord, using posts and communities is rather new for me.
LGBTQIA+…wow Im not sure how I overlooked that, for context im Ace, poly and am supporting my partner while they transition. No sort of discrimination or transphobia is going to be accepted here. Il write a new sidebar to make these points clear and hopefully show that I intend this to be a safe community.
The community is heavily m/f and f/f leaning, that’s just down to what my primary tastes are honestly. x/m is not restricted, neither is any combination of gender. A new sidebar will hopefully make this clear.

Most people (including myself I’m afraid) are lurkers or viewers, not content creators.
Fair enough, was curious if people actually liked the posts overall. Nothing wrong with lurking, though throwing an upvote every once in a while to show you like the content is nice for motivation.
