My local Democratic party affiliate literally has the photo of Kamala and Liz Cheney holding hands as their cover photo on FB. It’s clear the leadership is conservative themselves and are more than willing to hand victories to Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis in order to deny anyone slightly to their left any sort of power.

    It was simple.

People didn’t see the wages increase by much, people didn’t see prices of stuff drop.

Result: “Meh, I voted for them dems last time and nothing changed, might as well just stay home”

Because they had no memory of the Trump clown show.

They were fighting each other for toilet paper under Trump.

Fighting for toilet paper was better than homelessness.

Also definitively better than not being able to put food on the table.

Democrats have to realize that no one cares about your identity politics when they’re working 100 hours a week at three jobs for the privilege of living in a roach-infested studio apartment.

Are Republicans not just as bad with identity politics?

Would Trump’s brand of conservatism be better for these people? I’d guess not. Trump cares only about himself and those he’s closest to.

I think, and I hate to say this, they are way, way better at it.

Also, I’d argue that if you sat through the last eight years and you honestly think either ruling party is suitable for uplifting the masses, socially, economically, or otherwise, that you’re obstinately ignoring the world around you. (Or you don’t have to work for a wage.) If you want meaningful change on a massive scale, you’re powerless in America, unless you’re willing to follow in the footsteps of a certain Italian gentleman who’s recently gained notoriety. (Or a billionaire.)

It’s simple that they spent their time and energy trying to convince Republicans that would hardly ever cross the aisle while ignoring progressives. That’s why they lost. The Republican party is uniform, the Democrats are not.

Why dwell on the Cheney thing?

She and the party didn’t offer an economically populist message. Any status quo democrat would have lost.

Well it’s a good thing Trump promises to fix everything by raising prices and deporting everyone with a tan! That’s an economically populist message I can get behind!

Where is that quote from? Media distorted her words when having been asked about such. It was around the lines of “Would you consider putting a Republican in your cabinet”. And she said sure I believe diversifying views is good.

Far from guaranteeing anything. But w.e, it’s all in the past now

Campaigning with the daughter of a war criminal was not a good look, even if it didn’t move Kamala right on any actual policy. It’s perfectly reasonable to look askance at me if I’m out there doing campaign stops with Uday Hussein, even if I still support a $15 minimum wage.

Okay, now compare “Campaigned with the daughter of a war criminal” to “Is a war criminal rapist felon con man with dementia.” You’re arguing that “Not a good look” is worse than “Possibly the actual Anti-Christ.”

You shouldn’t assume that everyone who criticizes Kamala Harris’ actions during the campaign supported Trump or didn’t vote. That’d make you just as tribal and reactive as Trump supporters.

Either you voted for Harris or you didn’t. This isn’t tribal or reactive, this is a basic understanding of how the election works.

The average Kamala Stan has never followed her campaign nor listened to any of her speeches. Not surprising since every time Kamala said something ridiculous the echo chambers downvoted it into oblivion.

This is fucking stupid. Yes, campaigning with Cheney didn’t push her to the right in and of itself, but she in the same time period promised to include Republicans in her cabinet and build that stupid border wall, so the existence or lack of a causal relationship frankly doesn’t matter.
