With that framing, you can see how serfdom, and slavery all become progenitors to modern day capitalism. It’s evolved with the times and always found a way in. I can’t believe I didn’t see it before.

Feudalism resulted in higher living standards for a lot of people too. Historically capitalism has been a progressive economic system, yet now in the XXI century it keeps humanity from going further in the same manner as every economic system prior to capitalism done before.
Matter is not static, things change. Marxism doesn’t deny historical role of bourgeoisie and capitalism, communists search for how to go even further.
