Personally I just love that they didn’t even do a remake. They didn’t even do a remaster. They just did a rerelease. The absolute bare minimum. And they even screwed that up.
We should also add, The Sims ran like ASS back in the day. Random crashes were constant, and they STILL ARE. Nothing has been fixed, and even if it launches, it’s still got every single bug it used to have.
If one of my engineers used the words “should” and “most,” I would just glare at them until they turned right the fuck back around and finished their work.
I would glare you back and explain for the 98th time that in my field software being okay doesn’t mean that it will run. Data quality and config files that are not out purview can make correct software crash.
It’s not data engineering in this case though so I mostly agree with you.
I’m usually a big proponent of reasonable expectations, and certainty can be a funny thing…
But launching should be the bare minimum, and this sounds terrible as an official announcement…
What greedy dumbasses, can’t even check that their cash grab works first.
Why should ot work? Most people will buy it for nostalgia reasons and “to play it again once the time’s right” and never actually manage to do so… /A bit of sarcasm with realization of how the world is
It’s sad but it’s true. Had the bundle been announced before launch, people would have been lining up to preorder.
I’m totally going to use that line next time I talk to our QA manager
