Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told an economic summit on Friday that he believes U.S. President Donald Trump is sincere in his desire to annex Canada and that this stems from the American leader’s interest in gaining access to this country’s critical minerals, a source said.

Mr. Trudeau made the comments to an audience of about 200 business leaders, trade experts and union executives in Toronto who have gathered to map out ways to boost economic growth and attract new capital investment in the face of the looming threat of U.S. protectionism.

Mr. Trump has repeatedly proposed to Canada in recent months that it could avoid tariffs if it agreed to a political union with the United States. He has mockingly referred to Mr. Trudeau as the governor of the 51st state.

Trump’s mineral lust is peak imperialism wrapped in tariff threats. Oh sure, let’s casually annex a sovereign nation because lithium and cobalt are just that shiny. Trudeau’s right to call this out, but where’s the spine? Rolling over for a 30-day tariff “pause” while Trump licks his chops over our resources? Pathetic.

This isn’t governance—it’s a shakedown. 51st state? Try 19th-century colonialism with a MAGA hat. Canada’s playing nice, but we’re just negotiating our own surrender while corporate ghouls nod along.

Wake up. Diversify trade. Nationalize critical minerals. Burn the 49th parallel to ash if they cross it. Sovereignty isn’t a bargaining chip—it’s the only chip.

Should we start mining the border? I’ve always been anti war, I hate guns and I’m not really patriotic. But if some Unitedstaters start to invade my country, I’ll probably change my mind real fast and those fuckers will have to (gladly I’m sure) kill me.

Those that invade won’t be true Americans, they will be nazis wearing the US flag

Hmm. Not sure it makes a big difference for the people invaded.

You’re saying the nazis that invaded a large part of Europe in the last world war were not “true” Germans? It must have been comforting for the invaded people to know that no true German could ever be a nazi.

And no true Goth could invade Italy, and no true Frank could invade Gaul, and no true Englishman could settle in Ireland. Yep, that’s how it works.

Technically you’re an Imperial, so invasions are not a very bad thing?

Anyway, why is everyone seriously discussing Trump’s promises, has the Mexican wall been built? That seems an easier task than just annexing a few countries, let alone from the golden billion.

I can understand people that defend where they live if they need to. But I can also not understand why anybody would sign up to follow orders and invade/bomb other countries. I have no fucking love for military organizations.

I don’t need a gun now because I don’t fear my fellow Canadians. I have no reason to want one and I can only see those things as killing machines.

However if my home, friends, family, and region is invaded, I will still hate fucking guns and all the violence, it will certainly fuck me up mentally, but I’ll find a gun and fire on the invaders until they kill me.

If the US tries to invade Canada, I’ll happily lend my rifles to defend the land to the north.

I consider it my patriotic duty to my fellow human.

Just take care of my dogs if anything happens to me.

Trump is speedrunning all future wars. We need to confront this issue now with an open mind for everyone. If not, one country will try this again but with a competent person

Lot of night trench raid with home made weapon like spiked club and shive. grenade catapult and pipe bomb also lot of fun killing prisonner of war ( we did not take any ) by beating them to death in place of shooting them .

The non respect of live and let live ( you only attack if ordered ) and non respect of truce and using it to get closer before killing enemy

At least one time throwing canned beef to starving ferman soldier and when they ask for more throwing grenade

And that only some of the WW1

We wouldn’t need the US military. Canada has less than 100 modernish tanks. Less than 100 modernish fighter jets. Less than 100k total military personnel.

We could literally just let the Florida men go up there and handle it.

          Yeah you’re probably right.

Unfortunately for Canada we could probably wipe out their entire military with one air craft carrier and I promise you there are more than enough active service member that would be willing to attack Canada if the order did come.

I think we would all prefer if it didn’t come to that, but if we did go to war with Canada I don’t think it would be a particularly long war.
