Remember how Biden had no power to get rid of DeJoy for four years?

He didn’t. Trump is going to ignore the fact this is illegal, like most of the shit DOGE is doing. Because the courts take too long to work through these issues, they aren’t designed to handle an active coup.

I hate to break it to you, but Biden did eventually appoint enough people to the postal board that he could’ve gotten rid of DeJoy if he’d picked appointees based on their opposition to them. But he didn’t. For some unfathomable reason, he chose to appoint DeJoy supporters instead.

    People paying attention:

“Trump is Russia style privatizing the entirety of the federal government! Services that were once provided via tax collection will now need to be personally paid for while they are also subsidized and your taxes will still increase.

    Kool aid drinking Magoos:

“Oh don’t be so dramatic, they’re just Cost Cutting!™©® Elon is a genius business man! The GOP care about us!”

Wow, good thing Biden followed all the fucking rules and didn’t illegally fire the guy who actively worked against him who is now going to be illegally sacked by the guy who fucking hired him in the first place. That would have been unconscionable. Simply beyond the pale. Heaven forbid.

The board is planning to fight Trump’s order, three of those people told The Washington Post. In an emergency meeting Thursday, the board retained outside counsel and gave instructions to sue the White House if the president were to remove members of the board or attempt to alter the agency’s independent status.

I’m kind of amazed that they’re fighting to retain independence.
