• X, the former Twitter, has experienced a worldwide outage as of 12PM on Monday CAT.
  • This is likely the first major outage of the company since Musk took ownership in 2022.
  • The outage seems to have only lasted for about half an hour.

I assume we’re in a similar boat so let me assure you: no, you won’t - because we wouldn’t even realize it happened.

Only after s few months one of us will recall this thread and be like “oh, yeah. Twitter. Seems really dead finally. Good.”

And to be clear I expect they person to be you because my memory is awful.

I still can’t believe he nuked the Twitter brand. It was like the most valuable part of the platform. X is such a dumb, generic nothing name.

It’s going to be so easy for him to turn that x into a swastika in a couple of years though. Its what’s known in tech circles as IED “iterative evil design”

He is really really dumb person, so it is not surprising he does stupid stuff. Look at cybershit, tesla robot (driven by people remotely), anything he did last year… He is fucking dumb idiot.

I’m glad he did, now there is a clear line from when it was acceptable to when it wasn’t.

The USA probably won’t rebrand when its a fully fascist state.

You are really surprised by a guy who wanted to name his car series S-E-X-Y and had a temper tantrum when model E was taken and he could not “buy” it.

Yeah, I really could not understand the motivation behind that. Why throw away such a valuable brand? I mean the name was even a clever play on words that also gave them a cute bird icon/mascot.

“Twitter”, with that bird logo is just a slam dunk, that’s solid gold branding… It’s insane to randomly “go a different direction” and then land at “X”. If I was their brand coordinator or director of marketing when they made that change, I’d resign then and there.

Changing their name to “X” was essentially lighting 20% of their assets on fire on day 1.

I feel like most if not pretty much all of the value of Twitter was the name itself, and the recognition it had.

Fascists value compliance and ideological fervor over competency, so naturally all fascist led faction experience a competency crisis sooner or later.May this happen more often.

Oh no. So anyway, tonight we’re having a stereotypical American meal that takes 25 minutes off your life; Sloppy joes, macaroni and cheese, and potato salad. It’s quite good, everything made from scratch since I don’t have a job anymore. How about you?

Honestly, it’s almost a relief to hear someone say “sorry about your job” without adding the caveat “but DoD/DoE/NIH/USAID is fraud/waste/bad/scam” to the statement. And yes, it was a pretty darned good dinner as long as healthy wasn’t one of the criteria.

      Chakalaka.

Dice an onion and a bell pepper, throw it into plenty of fat, sizzle until the onions are glassy, add some chilli (pickled is fine the end result can use some acid), not too little English curry powder, mix well, making sure the powder is roasted (it changes taste quite drastically), top with a grated carrot or two (veggie proportions are up to taste), put on the lid and let steam on medium heat (err towards low), once steamed (the carrot shreds basically fall apart) add a can of baked beans. Those don’t need to be cooked, just let the stuff stand for a bit until everything is at equal temperature.

Eat as-is or with whatever, rice works well. Probably works with any curry mix I just happen to be out of Thai for a surprising amount of time now so I didn’t try yet. Size-wise I’d say that the onion should be cut about half the size the beans are, and the bell pepper pieces to be about twice as large as the beans. If you want carrot pieces you can do that but I’d still suggest shredding some so that it can dissolve some sweetness into the saucy part.
