This became easy to predict about 15 years into the neoliberal project.

It’s the regime’s new economic paradigm.

See, this is what I mean by “you don’t know what these words mean.”

To quote the Wikipedia page of (keyword neo) NEO-liberalism

“Scholars tended to associate it with the theories of economists working with the Mont Pelerin Society, including Friedrich Hayek, Milton Friedman, Ludwig von Mises, and James M. Buchanan, along with politicians and policy-makers such as Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan, and Alan Greenspan.”

You see, the word neo isn’t just a funny haha shits and giggles addon. It’s there for a reason. To be specific. Ronald Regan is not a liberal. He hated liberals. He’s a neo liberal. Annoying? Yeah, but still, a purposeful distinction. Which you don’t know about which makes talking to you “about” that specific topic very very hard. Cause you don’t know the basic political vocabulary.

I’m not trying to be mean, it’s really hard to say “you don’t know what this word means” in a nice way to a stranger over the internet.

      Mont Pelerin Society

Finally, we’re getting somewhere! An actual definition of what you think it means with some substance to it!

They were a thinktank operating on anti-governmental, pure privatizationg, unregulated “laissez-faire” markets, and most importantly ANTI-TAX.

Here is the hilarious part of all of this, you don’t need to invent a new word with Liberal as the root for these people. We’ve had one since 1789. The word is Libertarianism. I’m sorry to be the one to teach you that the word you were using was the wrong word the entire time. I’m not trying to be mean, I’m sure this is quite embarrassing for you to lecture others on something you yourself were wrong about.

Nah, libertarians can be everything from the fucking gun-wielding nuts so common in the US to socialist libertarians or anarchists. OP used the word correctly and you are just wrong and a bit petty.

Libertarians vote Republican, that’s all you need to know about them from a moral perspective. They’re not big promoters of actual human rights.

I didn’t write much in the previous comment. You didn’t read or understand it. There ist more in the world than those shits you have in the US.

That’s fair, I’ve never conversed with any Libertarians outside of the USA, however the specifics of USA and UK were given with the previous user as he specifically mentioned the socioeconomic policies of Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan, and Alan Greenspan. Those were all examples of Libertarianism, and several were explicitly anti-Liberal such as Ronald Reagan who said “If fascism ever comes to America, it will come in the name of liberalism.”
