It kills me, the HRC campaign knew that she was so fucking snakebit that they’d have to run her against an actual clown to have a chance of winning, and they lost to the clown.

They lost to the clown because clowns are generally charming and likeable. Trump’s a POS, but he’s the kind of Seinfeld tier stand-up style POS Americans adore.

Jeb Bush was the push over because he had exactly the same amount of charm as Hillary, but none of her personality cult. Hillary just panicked when she saw his college GPA or some dumb on-paper shit and forget this wasn’t an election you win by sucking up hardest to Teacher.

I was going to vote for Johnson (I live in Cali, so, whatever) but my SO promised to be extremely pissed at me if I voted for Johnson and Trump won. Johnson got a lot of grief for the Aleppo gaffe (meanwhile you had Trump increasing the shit/air density every time he opened his mouth) but he was IRL an extremely reasonable candidate and an extremely reasonable platform compared to the alternatives.

I’ve met Johnson in person and I’m afraid to say he’s the exact same business conservative politician you get all over the Southwest, with a libertarian veneer to match.

All he cares about is deregulation as a panacea and tax cuts as a corporate bailout. You’d very likely see the same kind of DOGE cuts and tariffs we’re getting today, if we’d lived under a 2017 Johnson presidency.

She may be right, but HRC can fuck right off. She’s part of that center-auth group of democrats that believe that the tools of fascism are good and necessary as long as they’re in the hands of enlightened leadership. So, you know, the plan to keep everyone safe from fascism was to just never lose an election ever. We now see how that worked out for us. As long as we have shit like the Patriot act, ICE, and all the other bullshit from the wars on drugs and terror, an eventual authoritarian takeover wasn’t a question of if, but of when.

Somehow, those 2 things are not quite on the same level, don’t you think?

People rightly laugh a the ignorant parents who let their kids come to harm by refusing to vaccinate them and who blame everyone but themselves… but the rest of Americans seem the same, they could have prevented Fascism by voting, twice, for a woman… but neither offer them a pony or held their hand or chew the food for them so here we are… not their fault

You’re oversimplifying the issue. She did not lose because she was a woman, she lost because she gave a fuck off campaign where the party slogan was “Love Trumps Hate”. Then the exact same fucking people who ran her campaign, came in for Kamala right as they told Tim to stop calling MAGAts “weird” because it might alienate voters.

Bernie, however, has never had a position higher than the State level. He’s had tens of thousands in show up to his rally’s with AOC just this past month. If you think they only lost because America is sexist, you drank the blu-anon kool-aid.

the rest of Americans seem the same, they could have prevented Fascism by voting, twice, for a woman

Plenty of voting happened in 2016 and 2024. But you’re discounting all the hysteria built up around the liberal party candidates, all the money changing hands under the table for positive coverage, and all the vote caging, disenfranchising, and assorted electoral ratfvcking that went along with it.

At some point, you’d think Democrats would have noticed how Mail-In Voting and looser election rules rebounded hugely to their favor in 2020. Or how a big activist base of left-liberal voters benefited the party in '06/'08.

But all that activism also came with demands. OWS, BernieBros, BLM, and the folks talking about Defunding ICE like it wasn’t a bad idea. Dems hated that and worked to purge these campaigners from their own party.

They came after TikTok for being Too Wokely Chinese. They came after ACORN for enfranchising too many AA midwesterners. They came after the DSA for fundraising on the wrong candidates and issues. And then they’d see their vote totals dry up to the tune of millions (in 2024 over ten million) votes. All lost to outright hostility or careless neglect.

“Why didn’t you vote for our team?” is a stupid question to ask people who your DOJ allowed purged from the rolls years earlier.

She also caused this by pushing Bernie’s campaign into the ground and using “pied piper” tactics to propel the Trump campaign through the primary. She had no business running for office in 2016. She represented nothing that drew America to Obama, and her ties to Bill Clinton and her own failures as a politician made her a repulsive choice. Okay “Hillary Rodham Clinton”, what do you think America should do? I’m certain she won’t say what we’re all thinking.

An old man walks up to a newsstand. He buys a newspaper, looks at the front-page and throws it right into the trash-can next to the stand. The next day, he does the same: He buys a newspaper, looks at the front-page and throws it into the trash. And the next day he does the same. And the next, and the next.

Eventually, the sales-guy asks the man why he keeps doing that: Buying a newspaper, looking at the front and throwing it away.

“I’m just looking for an obituary.”

“But obituaries are not on the front-page!”

“The one I’m looking for will be.”

    I understand this man.

I re-frame it as such because

      1. Life experience has taught me that a lot of people suck at risk assessment. There’s a lot of people who inappropriately believe that it can’t happen to them for no other reason than they believe that they won’t roll a 1. In this regard, it’s a wake-up call that people have a tangible self-interest in defending others.

      2. A shocking amount of people have an acute lack of empathy for strangers, and have a hard time putting themselves in other people’s shoes. This is an invitation to imagine what’s happening to others by imagining it happening to them.

You can fight fascism abroad or end up fighting it at home. The failure of Biden and Harris to stand against genocide and fascism caused many people who might have voted for Harris to stay home instead. Can’t vote for Trump because he’s a fascist and wants to be a dictator. Can’t vote for Harris because she supports a fascist apartheid police state that is currently committing a genocide. So, vote for one of the two fascists, stay home and don’t vote at all, or vote for a third party. I voted for Jill Stein. I would have voted for Bernie Sanders if he had been on the ballot. I would have voted for Harris if she had the courage to defy AIPAC and stand up for what most Americans want, an end to funding genocide.

I absolutely did the right thing. Politicians should earn our votes, not just expect them for not being named Donald Trump. If Biden and Harris are okay with genocide and fascism in Palestine then they are okay with it everywhere, including in the USA. Biden deported 37 times as many people during his first three years as Trump did in his first term. Harris was trying to out MAGA Trump. She was talking about how she would also deal with the immigration problem. She thought she was going to swing some Trump voters but ignored the issues that would have motivated leftists. 38% of registered voters didn’t vote at all. That’s more than voted for either party. At least I voted for someone who represents my interests and beliefs. Jill Stein opposes the genocide and she’s Jewish. The green party opposes all of this oligarchy and poisoning of our planet. The Democrats are Blue MAGA.

The green party is also Russian backed just like Trump 😜 but, you still voted for her for some reason, even though she actively collaborates with a fascist who is performing his own genocide. Curious that one.

Good luck with ever having a politician earn your vote again btw. You might not have a vote to give anymore with Trump ignoring SCOTUS orders and repeatedly breaking constitutional laws. It was worth it to show Kamala that genocide of Gazans is bad! (but fuck Ukraine am I right?)

Surely out 97,488 votes for Nader in Florida, the gap couldn’t have been made up the difference of checks notes 537 fucking votes. Gore won the popular vote but the recount came down to those 537 of which again over 97000 went to Nader. Two things can be true.

                Two things can be true.

So you agree that both you and I and NSRXN all have correct takes, just maybe without enough context. Which means NSRXN wasn’t being obtuse, he was correct that gore won that election.

The difference is you think it makes sense to blame nader voters for bush getting to be president while I and presumably NSRXN place blame primarily on the supreme Court.

Both sides here have some merit, neither are obtuse
