Avengers was arguably the only one that deserved to flop, but Guardians and Midnight Suns are both referenced, which certainly have degrees of critical praise. It’s a shame, but it seems like Marvel is learning the right lesson and leaning into single-hero, single-player games akin to Spider-Man, which I think is great news.

The first Spider-Man game was really cool, but it got old fairly fast. There’s just not a lot there to keep it entertaining, or at least not for me.

Batman swung between raised vantage points, although I’d say it’s a stretch to compare that to the web swinging mechanics. The batman one was really just a single button initiated animation as you moved from one location to the other.

I’d say it’s more akin to spiderman web grappling between perches like lamp posts

That’s just to pick up speed though, you’re mostly gliding. At least from Arkham City onwards.

Damn I knew kids were getting high with vapes but I never knew how high.

That’s literally the most interesting aspect of it. And it was something different to yet another arpg using characters that don’t fit constant gear changes. If you wanted that you should’ve played avengers.

I thought it would be like XCOM but the card game mechanics turned me off after a few missions. A little bit of randomness keeps things interesting but I don’t want to feel like I’m playing cards I want to feel like I’m directing a mission.

Oh I agree that it can be frustrating, but I’m just glad they did something other than yet another shallow action game.

That’s why I held off for 60% sale. I think, given my personal preferences, there is a wee little best of both worlds realm if they get it juuust right. I’m not confident in anyone to hit that sweet spot, but I am very excited to build a team of my favorite heroes to manage in turn based tactic gameplay. So I figured I’d give it a shot, but not for 30+ bucks. I actually bought it a few months ago and just installed it last night, but too late to actually start it up.

I had a lot of fun with gotg. A really solid game with a great story and characters that you actually cared about. Dumb action that could have been a little more complex, but it worked!
