It’s only Islamists that beat girls to death for not wearing the right headgear, or stone people to death for committing adultery, or execute people for being gay, or strap bombs to themselves and try and kill as many innocent people as possible. Yes … all religions are stupid and most are regressive and have crazy rules. But one religion is objectively far worse than all the rest put together (and I include the vile christian conservatives in that group).

Yes, yes and yes. Christianity in the middle ages was responsible for all manner of brutality. No argument there. It doesn’t change my assertion.

By the way, instead of saying “in this minute of history” you can just say “now” … it sounds less pompous.

From what I can recall, when muslim do bad shit, people tend to comment that islam is shit. But when christians do bad shit, people tend to comment that religion is shit.

I don’t know. It might be some weird confirmation bias where I feel like muslims as a whole get more targeted hate when I actually want to hate you all equally.

Christianity is shit. There I said it. I will continue to say it until I am freaken dead and nothing remains because there is no god and there is no afterlife. Fuck Christianity, the religion with the highest kill count and as far as I can tell the only achievements it has given the humans race are

            1. The gun

            2. The coathanger abortion

            3. And the Inquisition

The world would be a better place if James the Just had gotten hit with a rock the moment he started bullshitting about his fake brother.

There. Is that enough for you? Did I make up for all the supposed silence going on?

Any institution that requires its members to have “faith” in a given set of entities is always dangerous for a free, civilized world. Religions by definition fall into this set of institutions. The cure for this is making high quality education extremely accessible to everyone around the world. Educational universities are soft power, where qualities like freedom, liberty, democracy etc. can be entrenched in people. Not doing this = allowing dangerous faith based institutions to erode away at these values.

All religions are shit. However, religion is a tool for those in power to control the masses. The root cause of the fucked up Iranian government is not Islam, it’s power hungry assholes who - thanks to the patriarchate being in place at the time they got to the top, happen to be misogynistic fucktards.

What? Taoism has millions of practitioners and since it’s not an organized religion there’s probably millions more that are uncounted, myself included. Also a major part of the belief system is karma so we absolutely believe in standing up to evil in all of its forms because that’s how you reduce suffering and create more good into the world.

Cool, let’s have my country, the US, return to unfettered immigration policies and bring back the policy that if you set foot on US soil, you’re made a citizen.

Then let’s start importing people from these hellstates by the millions. Throw billions of dollars at it. Redirect anti-terrorism money to this sort of immigration instead.

I mean this 100% unironically. Great for the world, great for humanity, and spectacular for the US

        I’d propose a modified version

With allies and neutrals negotiate an immigration policy case by case to achieve a balance which best benefits both sides of the transit.

With enemies, open the gates and make a point of how everyone who’s able to choose will at least be extremely tempted to choose the US.

Even better since we’re in a day and age when America’s geopolitical enemies are already in demographic crises, adopting this policy would basically set up enemy nations for abject failure while solidifying America’s own demographic balance, and in an extended sense, that of America’s allies.

Meanwhile we avoid brain draining potential allies like opening the flood gates with mexico would achieve.

I happen to agree. Ideally I would open the floodgates little by little and turn the US into a nation of a billion. So many countries want to send us the best that they have. It’s freaken free money. Come here, bring your food, and work in our factories.

Those who are rich and comfy enough with the regime can leave easily and be welcomed across the globe. Those who aren’t, well, sucks to be them.
