Any thoughts on the story behind this proverb?
Let’s theorycraft. All balls = the promise of bountiful offsprings; no shaft = limp dick = can’t perform the sex act. Therefore, Musk is all bark no bite.
All hat, no cattle, or all foam, no beer. All mouth, no trousers, or conversely all fur coat and no knickers
Sometimes this is expressed as “all balls, no forehead” or “no brain”. It means someone who is headstrong or has plenty of enthusiasm, but lacks the ability to follow through.
It sounds appropriate for Muskrat, that’s all I’ll say
