its a type of sedum i believe, its possibly Sedum caeruleum, if there are any closer pics that would be helpful. its a succulent in the crassulacae family. cant see the leaves, if they look like jellybeans most likely its this species. since its the only red one in sardinia.

the flowers was a clue eventhough it wasnt very clear, it look alot like the flowers of other crassulacae, if you look aeonium, it has very similar looking flowers.

But I am sure that you are correct, Sedum caeruleum apparently is very typical for Sardinia and Corsica.

Nope, but I saw the same stuff growing on some rocks in the US.
