It worked. The sidewalk couldn’t get past the fence.

I am glad that they put the sign on this fence. If they had not done this, all of the people who tried, would still be there. In front of the fence, trying to get through.

The sign is so you know you’re doing something verboten. So you feel guilty when you step around the fence.

Yes you can clearly see that. People seem to prefer vorbei gehen over durch gehen.

It would be funny if the wall would have been just a very long fence with kein Durchgang signs all over it and the people just obeyed the signs.

Video game logic. Those sparse shin-high rocks will totally block their path if they try to go around.

They were probably thinking “the fence will go up next week” and then “oh dang, we don’t have the money for the fence now.”

I don’t know how it works in Germany but in some places you can’t accuse someone of trespassing if there’s no signage. Maybe that?

I don’t think its about trespassing because its public parking. I think it is because the sidewalk ends directly on one parking spot. Maybe it would have been required to remove the parking spot to create a opening. There is also a Bus stop beside the sidewalk so maybe they just wanted to have less foot traffic on the parking area. But they must have known that the fence is not big enough…

The conversation probably went something like this:

    Dude 1: Yo, I’m like, sky-high, man!

Dude 2: No way, bro! Where’d ya cop this fire?

Dude 1: Beats me, man. I was already blitzed when I scored it.

    Dude 2: Duuuude, that’s wicked!

Dude 1: Ayo, listen up, I just had this like, mind-blowing epiphany. Check it, bro. This is gonna flip the script, man. Let’s slap up a fence right at the entrance to the parking lot.

Dude 2: Totally, let’s make it happen. It’ll be like, the ultimate vibe killer for the fuzz, man. They’ll never see it comin’. Plus, think about the street cred we’ll get. We’ll be legends, man. Legends!

Boys went and slapped up a fence right there, and stopped thinking about it any further. Who needs brains when you’re total legend.

Probably a super natural reason. Like there were ghost sightings then a psychic told them to do it.
