Isn’t pro-palestine pro-semitism? They are a semitic people, after all. I’m just sick of being called a racist by Israel for calling out their genocide.

Yeah the logic I keep finding is people/entities saying that anti-Semitism is commonly used for people being against Jewish people, so it isn’t antisemetism to do acts against other semites. Which is rediculous. It is like saying targeted attacks on Asian Americans isn’t racist, because in America racist was a common used term against African Americans.

Note, this is the logic Grok used as well when I asked it how mass killings and deportations of semites in Gaza wasn’t antisemetic.

I agree that anti-semitism is bad and we should not welcome it into our country. I assume the people behind this push don’t conflate ‘anti-semitism’ with ‘anti-IDF’, and that the vague notion of ‘anti-semitism’ used here won’t be used to punish people critical of the genocide that Israel is undertaking on Palestinians.

“Consistent with her past statements erroneously linking antisemitic attacks with Palestine solidarity protests, Segal seems fixated on driving a pro-Israel narrative and repressing legitimate criticism of Israel’s genocide in Gaza,” Kaiser added.

    Oh.

Yeah I think any time you hear someone in the “geopolitics” part of the government talk about antisemitism you can safely assume it’s that second thing.
