Sometimes the more acronyms it takes to describe your gender the more clout you get

When it’s a spectrum, boxes are just a reasonable grouping for social means. If you’re in a group who has embraced the idea of gender theory, you may make those boxes more granular, but that can be a shock to people that, until fairly recently, had accepted a binary option. In those cases, it may make sense to speak in more broad terms. To be clear, this meme is disingenuous and probably more than a little crass.

Also to be fair to the meme, it’s a meme. Crass and making generalizations to paint a situation in a slightly humorous context is the name of the game. No one actually believes that we apply such sweeping generalizations to everyone. Not to mention where the meme is posted. We are in 196, a queer positive meme community, on blahaj zone, a server whose name references a product which has become a known trans symbol. The memes are going to be LGBT related in general. Anyone arguing that this meme is in any way divisive is likely doing so in bad faith and wasting your and my time.

You are replying to a commenter making a joke about how more gender nuance is somehow related to your status, like we get it, you have the one joke punching down on gender non-conforming folk and cannot for the life of you think up another. Literally attack helicopter levels of bad joke. What the fuck is this comments section.

And some trans people don’t. Like sorry I fall into the contra camp. The only time I really understood gender beyond dysphoria and avoiding it was after two tabs of acid and several years of transition.

Yeah a group ganging up on another group! Humanity is doomed to repeat itself.

    Can’t we all just be?

      So true.

But it’s a problem in general, humans like labels and groups. I. E., that’s good for you and that’s bad. It’s easy and probably rooted in our evolution. Some people like different because they had good experiences in the past. Like new fruit wow good, tastes well and makes me feel good. Others, new fruit makes stomach ache… Third group oh new fruit, but nothing new. You can replace fruit with mushrooms or people.

Some people hype, some diss and some are indifferent. From time to time they group up and fight each other, because one group has to be right.

It makes me sad, that we’ve had similar discussions and hate for over 2000 years…

Religion Countries Color of skin Sex Music genres Sports clubs Operating systems Game console Social media services

I over simplified a lot, but i hope some people feel the same.

Please let me know if I’ve said anything offensive, i don’t know better, yet.

Oh I’ve had my fair share of discrimination but life’s not not all about the downs. Some of the best people I know are from the same race as the people who beat my brother , called me a black cunt while I was going to grab a few beers from the corner store, shouted racial slurs at my mother Infront of me when I was 6.

Some people are shit. But posting a picture saying that all cis people are this single minded could offend people too.

Also did you guys compare people to fruit ?

        Hah jk

My strategy as cis is I just don’t give a fuck what anybody’s gender is. Can’t offend anybody if you just don’t care.

Cis people often do not think about gender so you find that people who are very well informed about gender can’t talk with the same amount of nuance as they do with other people who are very well informed about gender. You just have to simplify the concepts so that those who don’t know them yet can understand.

        Pardon me, I’m a cis brown male, I may be illinformed but should I be concerned about gender everytime I meet a new person. Or can I simply ask;

        How’s it going ?

        What do you do ?

Rather than get to know someone through, what I thought was a rational method of approaching a fellow being - I have to think …am I at an “informed level of nuances about gender” to approach this person?

Lol what? This meme is about discussing gender with different groups of people. What does meeting new people have to do with anything? Are you discussing gender with arbitrary people you just met for the first time? I would advise against that, other than maybe mentioning your pronouns when introducing yourself.
